Control and Instrumentation Engineer – Immediate Start

From MV switchgear to PLCs, this municipal electricity department in Mossel Bay needs a sharp electrical engineer. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a municipal electricity department on the Mossel Bay side of Western Cape. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Size cables, transformers and protection using design software
• Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
• Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
• Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
• Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
• Set and test protection relays and keep settings records

• Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
• BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
• ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
• At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating

• Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW
• Protection or HV operating authorisation

• Flexible hours on design days
