Cost Accountant (Food Processing Plant) – Immediate Start

You'll own the monthly numbers for an audit and advisory firm in Cape Town CBD, from journals to the management pack. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Cape Town CBD-based, with most of your time spent at an audit and advisory firm. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary

• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• Consolidation experience across several companies
• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
• Completed articles at an audit firm
