Cost Accountant (Food Processing Plant)

Month-end, year-end and audit prep all run through you at a mid-sized manufacturing group in Kuruman. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The work is in Kuruman, Northern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary

• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
