Cost Accountant (Food Processing Plant)

Month-end, year-end and audit prep all run through you at a private school trust in Rustenburg. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Location: Rustenburg, North West. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree

• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
• Power BI or a similar BI tool
• Completed articles at an audit firm
