Job Description

You'll help a community retail pharmacy in Tembisa dispense scripts, manage stock and advise patients at the counter. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is in Tembisa (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

The work, day to day

Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
Log Schedule 5 and 6 items in the register as they go out
Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves
Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
Record cold-chain fridge temperatures twice a day
Receive stock, check expiry dates and pack shelves first-expiry-first-out

You'll need

Accurate with numbers and careful with labels
SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)
Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
Friendly and clear at a busy counter

Extra points for

Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal
Experience in a courier or chronic medication pharmacy
