Courier Pharmacy Picker and Packer – Permanent

Work under a registered pharmacist at a courier chronic medication pharmacy in Umhlanga and keep the dispensary running smoothly. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is in Umhlanga (KwaZulu-Natal). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
• Receive stock, check expiry dates and pack shelves first-expiry-first-out
• Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
• Record cold-chain fridge temperatures twice a day
• Capture scripts on the dispensing system and check them against medical aid rules

• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
• Friendly and clear at a busy counter
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
• SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)
• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software

• Registered for the Post-Basic qualification if you currently hold Basic
• Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal

• Paid SAPC registration fees at some groups
