Creditors Clerk (Manufacturing)

Every invoice, payment and bank line at this family-owned manufacturer in Paarl goes through your hands. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll report in Paarl. Relocation is not covered for this one. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Prepare VAT201 workings for the accountant to submit on SARS eFiling
• Reconcile bank accounts daily and clear unallocated items
• Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
• Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
• Update customer credit limits and put accounts on hold when needed
• Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
• Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days

• Understanding of VAT input and output rules
• Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)
• Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details
• Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas
• Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero

• Hybrid work after probation at some practices
• Paid study leave for bookkeeping exams
• Office hours with no weekend work

• Name the accounting packages you use daily in your CV headline, such as "Sage Pastel Partner, Xero, Excel".
• Say how far you take the books, for example "to trial balance" or "to management accounts"; it tells recruiters your level.
