Job Description

Build the SQL, models and dashboards that run the weekly meeting at a microlender in Cape Town CBD. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Cape Town CBD-based, with most of your time spent at a microlender.

What you'll actually do

Build ETL pipelines in SSIS, Azure Data Factory or Python
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models
Present findings to managers in plain language with clear charts
Build simple forecasting and segmentation models in Python or R
Meet business users to turn their questions into report requirements

What you need

Hands-on Power BI, Tableau or a similar tool
Careful with sensitive customer data
Advanced Excel
Degree in statistics, maths, computer science, economics or a related field
Strong SQL, including joins, window functions and CTEs
At least 2 years in a data or reporting role (not needed for graduate posts)

Helpful, not essential

Microsoft PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst certification
Experience with Databricks, Snowflake or Fabric
Python with pandas for data wrangling
