Job Description

Clients trust your advice at this mid-sized commercial law firm in Bellville, so it has to be sound and practical. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a mid-sized commercial law firm on the Bellville side of Western Cape. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What your day looks like

Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements
Track legislation changes that affect clients' businesses
Brief counsel and prepare them for trial and opposed motions
Advise clients on risk, settlement and next steps in plain language
Appear in the magistrate's court, CCMA, Labour Court or High Court as your matters need
Review company processes for POPIA and privacy compliance
Draft and review contracts, shareholder agreements and legal opinions

Must-haves

Strong drafting and legal research
LLB and admission as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa
Sound judgement under deadline pressure
Right of appearance in the High Court for litigation posts

Helpful, not essential

Existing client following
Certificate in data protection or compliance
Notarial admission
