Job Description

A debt collection practice in Coega needs strong legal admin so the attorneys can focus on the law. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a debt collection practice in Coega. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What your day looks like

Type and format letters, notices and affidavits from dictation or drafts
Capture payments and update debtor balances on collection matters
Prepare fee notes and draft invoices for review
Collate and index court bundles and discovery files
Keep personal information in files secure under POPIA

You'll need

Understanding of court rules and deadlines
Discreet with confidential client information
Experience on legal software such as LegalSuite, AJS or GhostPractice
At least 2 years in a law firm or legal department
Organised under pressure from several attorneys

Nice if you have

Experience with the Master's Office for estates
Audio typing at 60+ words per minute
Paralegal diploma or LLB studies in progress
