Debtors Clerk (Credit Control)

You'll keep the books clean and up to date for a property management company in Kariega. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a property management company on the Kariega side of Eastern Cape. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days
• Match orders, delivery notes and invoices before a payment goes out
• Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
• Update customer credit limits and put accounts on hold when needed
• Load supplier payments on internet banking for authorisation
• Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero

• Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details
• Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
• Understanding of VAT input and output rules
• Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)

• Registered with SAIPA or the ICB as a bookkeeper
• Experience with inventory costing in a trading business

• Hybrid work after probation at some practices
• Thirteenth cheque at many small firms
• Office hours with no weekend work

• Name the accounting packages you use daily in your CV headline, such as "Sage Pastel Partner, Xero, Excel".
• Recruiters often give a short Excel or recon test, so practise a bank recon before the interview.
