Job Description

Strong back, sharp eyes on the load sheet: that is what a cement and brick yard in Kempton Park wants. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is in Kempton Park (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What you'll actually do

Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop

You'll need

Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
Willing to travel on routes that return late
No criminal record
Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts

Nice if you have

Basic furniture assembly skills
Speaking more than one local language for customer drops
A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)

What you get

Route-completion incentives in busy months
Meal allowance on long-route days
Help to get your own licence through the company later

How to apply for this job

Make sure the role, the hours and working in Kempton Park really suit you before you apply.
Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): police clearance if you already have one plus clear copy of your ID with a certification stamp.
Use the form on this page. It takes about two minutes and you don't need to upload anything yet.
If you're shortlisted you'll hear from us within 10 working days, usually by phone.

How2Apply recruits for this position on behalf of hiring employers around Kempton Park; applications go into our talent pool and shortlisted candidates are introduced directly.

Applying is free. Nobody from How2Apply will ever ask you to pay for anything to get this job.

How to stand out

Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
Keep your CV to one page with your phone number big and clear. Depot managers phone, they seldom email.
