Delivery Assistant (Furniture Trucks)

You'll load and offload trucks at a cement and brick yard in Umlazi so every delivery goes out full and correct. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a cement and brick yard on the Umlazi side of KwaZulu-Natal.

• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts

• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts

• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)
• Basic furniture assembly skills

• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Meal allowance on long-route days

• Keep your CV to one page with your phone number big and clear. Depot managers phone, they seldom email.
• Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
