Diesel Fitter (Forklift Fleet)

The agricultural equipment dealer in Springs needs a trade-tested diesel mechanic for workshop and field work. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Location: Springs, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Repair hydraulics on tippers, cranes and tail-lifts
• Service trucks and trailers on the planned maintenance schedule
• Diagnose electronic engine faults with a heavy-duty diagnostic laptop
• Carry out pre-roadworthy checks before the vehicle goes for COF testing
• Record parts used and hours worked on the fleet system

• Experience with electronic diagnostics on modern diesel engines
• At least 3 years on heavy commercial vehicles or plant
• Solid understanding of air brake systems
• Diesel mechanic trade test certificate
• Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs
• Code 14 licence so you can move and test trucks

• Brand-specific heavy vehicle courses
• PrDP for road tests with loaded vehicles

• Standby and call-out allowance
• Heavy-duty tools supplied by the workshop
• Provident fund and funeral cover
• Overtime available most weeks

• List the truck and engine types you have worked on, including electronic systems. Fleet managers screen for those.
