Dispatch Assistant (Building Materials)

Trucks come in heavy and leave loaded at this parcel sorting hub in Centurion, and you move the stock in between. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Location: Centurion, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks

• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• Friendly with customers at the door

• Basic furniture assembly skills
• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops
• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)

• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Uniform and safety shoes provided

• If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
