Job Description

Strong back, sharp eyes on the load sheet: that is what a container unpacking yard in Durban Central wants. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a container unpacking yard in Durban Central. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What you'll actually do

Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading

Must-haves

Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
No criminal record
Friendly with customers at the door
Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
