Trucks come in heavy and leave loaded at this parcel sorting hub in Harrismith, and you move the stock in between. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at a parcel sorting hub in Harrismith. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop

• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
• No criminal record
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• Friendly with customers at the door

• Basic furniture assembly skills
• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops

• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Uniform and safety shoes provided

• If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
