Job Description

Trucks, drivers, loads and deadlines all meet on your screen at a distribution depot in Rustenburg. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is Rustenburg-based, with most of your time spent at a distribution depot. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

The work, day to day

Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
Update customers on delivery times and delays
Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles

Must-haves

Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
Matric
At least 2 years in transport or logistics

Extra points for

Previous truck driving experience
Knowledge of cross-border documentation
Logistics or supply chain certificate
