Dispensary Assistant (Hospital Pharmacy)

You'll help a pharmacy inside a supermarket in Springs dispense scripts, manage stock and advise patients at the counter. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is Springs-based, with most of your time spent at a pharmacy inside a supermarket.

• Pick, count and label medicine for the pharmacist's final check
• Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
• Receive stock, check expiry dates and pack shelves first-expiry-first-out
• Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery
• Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language

• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
• SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)
• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
• Accurate with numbers and careful with labels

• Wound care or family planning counselling short course
• Experience in a courier or chronic medication pharmacy
• Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal

• Paid SAPC registration fees at some groups
• Fixed rota published a month ahead
• Sponsored Post-Basic studies for Basic assistants
