Domestic Helper (3 Days a Week) – Permanent

Steady household work in a guesthouse with family quarters in Komani, with clear days and hours agreed upfront. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a guesthouse with family quarters on the Komani side of Eastern Cape.

• Prepare simple meals or school lunches when asked
• Keep a list of cleaning supplies running low for the employer
• Help an elderly person with meals, medication reminders and light walking
• Clean windows and patio doors once a week
• Get children ready for school and supervise homework in the afternoon
• Water indoor plants and feed pets

• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
• Good with children and patient
• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Able to speak and understand basic English

• Experience caring for an older person
• Cooking experience with family meals

• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts
• Transport money for live-out staff
• Written contract with fixed hours and duties

• Say plainly what you can and cannot do: cooking, ironing, childcare, driving. It avoids arguments later and families like honesty.
• Families hire on trust, so make references your strongest part. Write the employer's name, suburb, years worked and phone number for each one.
