Domestic Worker (Live-Out, Weekdays) – Fixed-Term

Cleaning, laundry and a hand with the kids: that is the week in a townhouse in a security complex in Atlantis. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is Atlantis-based, with most of your time spent at a townhouse in a security complex. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Wash, hang, iron and fold the household's laundry
• Get children ready for school and supervise homework in the afternoon
• Prepare simple meals or school lunches when asked
• Change bed linen and make beds
• Clean windows and patio doors once a week
• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas on a weekly rotation

• Good with children and patient
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• South African ID or valid work permit
• Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised
• Able to handle a full-day physical routine

• A driver's licence for school lifts
• Experience caring for an older person
• Basic first aid or child CPR course

• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires
• Written contract with fixed hours and duties
• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts

• Families hire on trust, so make references your strongest part. Write the employer's name, suburb, years worked and phone number for each one.
• Ask for a written contract and to be registered for UIF. Good employers expect the question and it protects you.
