Domestic Worker (Live-Out, Weekdays)

A family in Mamelodi wants someone they can trust with their guesthouse with family quarters and their children. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is in Mamelodi (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Clean windows and patio doors once a week
• Wash, hang, iron and fold the household's laundry
• Help an elderly person with meals, medication reminders and light walking
• Change bed linen and make beds
• Keep a list of cleaning supplies running low for the employer
• Wash dishes and keep the kitchen tidy after meals

• Able to handle a full-day physical routine
• Able to speak and understand basic English
• Good with children and patient
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised

• Experience caring for an older person
• Cooking experience with family meals
• Basic first aid or child CPR course

• Transport money for live-out staff
• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts
• Written contract with fixed hours and duties

• Families hire on trust, so make references your strongest part. Write the employer's name, suburb, years worked and phone number for each one.
• Say plainly what you can and cannot do: cooking, ironing, childcare, driving. It avoids arguments later and families like honesty.
