Domestic Worker with Elderly Care – Immediate Start

Cleaning, laundry and a hand with the kids: that is the week in a townhouse in a security complex in Midrand. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The work is in Midrand, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Help an elderly person with meals, medication reminders and light walking
• Wash dishes and keep the kitchen tidy after meals
• Wash, hang, iron and fold the household's laundry
• Change bed linen and make beds
• Keep a list of cleaning supplies running low for the employer
• Get children ready for school and supervise homework in the afternoon

• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Able to speak and understand basic English
• Good with children and patient

• Experience caring for an older person
• A driver's licence for school lifts

• Transport money for live-out staff
• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts
• Written contract with fixed hours and duties

• Say plainly what you can and cannot do: cooking, ironing, childcare, driving. It avoids arguments later and families like honesty.
