Domestic Worker with Elderly Care

A family in Prospecton wants someone they can trust with their family home and their children. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is in Prospecton (KwaZulu-Natal). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Change bed linen and make beds
• Dust furniture, ornaments and skirting boards
• Water indoor plants and feed pets
• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas on a weekly rotation
• Wash, hang, iron and fold the household's laundry
• Clean windows and patio doors once a week
• Prepare simple meals or school lunches when asked

• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• South African ID or valid work permit
• Able to handle a full-day physical routine
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines

• Cooking experience with family meals
• A driver's licence for school lifts
• Non-smoker

• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts
• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires
• Transport money for live-out staff

• Ask for a written contract and to be registered for UIF. Good employers expect the question and it protects you.
• Families hire on trust, so make references your strongest part. Write the employer's name, suburb, years worked and phone number for each one.
