Domestic Worker with Elderly Care

You'll keep a guesthouse with family quarters in Rosslyn clean, calm and running smoothly for the family. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Rosslyn (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Help an elderly person with meals, medication reminders and light walking
• Get children ready for school and supervise homework in the afternoon
• Dust furniture, ornaments and skirting boards
• Clean windows and patio doors once a week
• Water indoor plants and feed pets

• Able to handle a full-day physical routine
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
• Good with children and patient
• Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised
• South African ID or valid work permit

• Transport money for live-out staff
• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts
• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires

• Families hire on trust, so make references your strongest part. Write the employer's name, suburb, years worked and phone number for each one.
• Ask for a written contract and to be registered for UIF. Good employers expect the question and it protects you.
