Drainage Plumber (Blockages & CCTV) – Immediate Start

This insurance repair contractor in East London needs a plumber who arrives on time, fixes it properly and leaves the site clean. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll report in East London. Relocation is not covered for this one.

• Order fittings from the supplier and keep the van stocked
• Clear blocked drains with a rodding machine and inspect lines with a drain camera
• Trace hidden leaks using pressure tests and moisture readings
• Install copper, PEX and PVC piping for new bathrooms and kitchens
• Service booster pumps, pressure tanks and water storage tanks
• Replace burst geysers and fit vacuum breakers, drip trays and pressure control valves to SANS 10254

• PIRB registration as a Licensed Plumber, so you can issue plumbing CoCs
• Code 08 licence and a clean driving record
• Able to talk politely to home owners about damage and costs
• Plumbing trade test certificate or an Occupational Certificate: Plumber (NQF 4)
• Working knowledge of SANS 10252-1 and SANS 10254

• Drain camera and high-pressure jetting experience
• Experience with insurance repair work and claim paperwork

• Paid PIRB renewal fee
• Fully stocked service van with a fuel card
• Protective clothing and safety boots replaced yearly
• Call-out bonus for every after-hours job you complete

• Mention how many geyser replacements you do in a normal month. It is the number most plumbing managers ask about.
• Put your PIRB number at the top of your CV. Insurance contractors check it before they read anything else.
