Drainage Plumber (Blockages & CCTV)

You'll sort out burst geysers, leaks and blockages for the private hospital maintenance department in Randburg. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Randburg, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Service booster pumps, pressure tanks and water storage tanks
• Fit toilets, basins, showers and mixers to the client's chosen finishes
• Replace burst geysers and fit vacuum breakers, drip trays and pressure control valves to SANS 10254
• Clear blocked drains with a rodding machine and inspect lines with a drain camera
• Install and repair soil and waste pipes to SANS 10400 Part P
• Trace hidden leaks using pressure tests and moisture readings
• Work on the emergency call-out roster for after-hours bursts

• Working knowledge of SANS 10252-1 and SANS 10254
• PIRB registration as a Licensed Plumber, so you can issue plumbing CoCs
• Fit enough to lift a 150-litre geyser with a helper and work in tight roof spaces
• Code 08 licence and a clean driving record
• Able to talk politely to home owners about damage and costs
• Plumbing trade test certificate or an Occupational Certificate: Plumber (NQF 4)

• Drain camera and high-pressure jetting experience
• Heat pump and solar geyser installation experience

• Fully stocked service van with a fuel card
• Call-out bonus for every after-hours job you complete

• Do not list every plumbing task you have ever done. Focus on geysers, drainage and CoCs, which is what these jobs pay for.
