Dump Truck Operator (Open Pit)

Operators at this contract mining company near Harrismith keep the ore moving from face to crusher. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a contract mining company on the Harrismith side of Free State.

• Drill blast holes to the plan depth and angle marked by the survey team
• Refuel and wash the machine at the end of your shift where required
• Complete the pre-use inspection checklist for your trackless mobile machine
• Push and level material on dumps and stockpiles with the dozer
• Report defects and lock out the machine for the maintenance crew

• At least 2 years operating the machine in a mining environment
• Valid operator certificate for the specific machine, from an MQA-accredited provider
• Clear understanding of the TMM regulations under Chapter 8 of the MHSA regulations
• Code 10 or Code 14 driver's licence
• Certificate of fitness from a mine medical practitioner

• Machine training instructor experience
• Experience with ultra-class haul trucks
• Fatigue management or defensive driving training

• Shift allowance for night and weekend shifts
• Company bus from nearby towns to the mine gate
