Dump Truck Operator (Open Pit)

Big machines, long shifts, good pay: the underground platinum mine using trackless mobile machinery near Kuruman needs qualified operators. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is an underground platinum mine using trackless mobile machinery on the Kuruman side of Northern Cape. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Refuel and wash the machine at the end of your shift where required
• Complete the pre-use inspection checklist for your trackless mobile machine
• Log loads, cycle times and machine hours on the onboard system or sheet
• Respect the collision avoidance system warnings and park-up rules
• Push and level material on dumps and stockpiles with the dozer

• Certificate of fitness from a mine medical practitioner
• Code 10 or Code 14 driver's licence
• Able to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating day and night roster
• Grade 10 at minimum, with Grade 12 strongly preferred
• At least 2 years operating the machine in a mining environment
• Clear understanding of the TMM regulations under Chapter 8 of the MHSA regulations

• Shift allowance for night and weekend shifts
• Annual performance bonus
• Company bus from nearby towns to the mine gate

• Put your operator certificate expiry dates on the CV. Expired tickets are the top reason operators get filtered out.
• Name the exact machine class and size you operated, like "100-ton rigid dump truck". Mines hire by machine.
