Job Description

Songs, stories, sandpits and routines: help a private pre-primary school in Benoni give children a strong start. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The site is in Benoni; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

What you'll actually do

Watch children closely outside and keep the play area safe
Help aftercare learners with homework and reading
Observe each child and note milestones in their development file
Follow the NCF daily programme and adapt it for each age group
Set up daily learning areas for art, blocks, reading and fantasy play
Feed, change and settle babies and toddlers on their routine

You'll need

Warm, patient and energetic with small children
ECD Level 4 or Level 5 qualification, or currently studying towards one
Matric
Able to follow hygiene and safety routines without cutting corners
