Job Description

You'll care for and teach young children at a private pre-primary school in Prospecton, from nappies to first letters. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a private pre-primary school on the Prospecton side of KwaZulu-Natal. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Clean and sanitise toys, mats and tables at the end of the day
Feed, change and settle babies and toddlers on their routine
Chat to parents at drop-off and pick-up about how the day went
Observe each child and note milestones in their development file
Watch children closely outside and keep the play area safe
Follow the NCF daily programme and adapt it for each age group

What you need

Experience caring for children in a group setting, even as a volunteer
Able to follow hygiene and safety routines without cutting corners
Paediatric first aid certificate
Matric

Helpful, not essential

Experience with children with special needs
Montessori diploma or Reggio-inspired training
