ECD Practitioner (Toddler Class)

Little ones at a community creche in Tzaneen learn through play, and you'll set up that play. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

The work is in Tzaneen, Limpopo, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Plan themes and holiday programmes with the principal
• Observe each child and note milestones in their development file
• Help aftercare learners with homework and reading
• Feed, change and settle babies and toddlers on their routine
• Follow the NCF daily programme and adapt it for each age group

• ECD Level 4 or Level 5 qualification, or currently studying towards one
• Paediatric first aid certificate
• Matric
• Experience caring for children in a group setting, even as a volunteer
• Warm, patient and energetic with small children
• Clear Form 30 child protection check and police clearance

• Montessori diploma or Reggio-inspired training
• Basic music, art or movement skills for group activities

• Reduced fees for your own child
• Short holiday closures over December and Easter
• Sponsored ECD Level 5 studies

• Apply for the Form 30 check early, as it can take weeks and many creches won't appoint without it.
• Add one sentence about an activity you ran that the children loved; it shows you can plan, not just supervise.
