Job Description

You'll wire, fault-find and certify installations for the food processing plant in Fourways. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a food processing plant on the Fourways side of Gauteng.

What you'll actually do

Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
Install inverters, battery banks and changeover switches for backup power clients
Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies
Complete job cards, material lists and test reports at the end of each job
Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site

What you need

Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre

Helpful, not essential

Master Installation Electrician registration for three-phase CoCs
N3 electrical trade theory on top of your trade test
Working at Heights certificate still in date
