Electrical Artisan (Trade Tested)

You'll wire, fault-find and certify installations for the office park maintenance team in Kimberley. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

The work is in Kimberley, Northern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
• Install and wire distribution boards, isolators and earth leakage units to SANS 10142-1
• Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
• Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
• Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies
• Lock out and tag out circuits before any work on live equipment

• Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekends
• Company bakkie for call-outs and travel between sites
• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year
• Standby allowance when you are on the after-hours roster

• If you have issued CoCs before, say how many and for what type of property.
• Put your registration category (IE, MIE or single-phase tester) and registration number right under your name on the CV.
