Job Description

The residential electrical contractor in Sandton needs a qualified electrician who can work neatly and sign off safe installations. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The site is in Sandton; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Install and wire distribution boards, isolators and earth leakage units to SANS 10142-1
Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies
Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats

Must-haves

Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
Valid Code 08 driver's licence
Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
