Job Description

The manufacturing plant in Kempton Park needs an electrical engineer for projects that go from design to commissioning. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a manufacturing plant on the Kempton Park side of Gauteng. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

The work, day to day

Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms

You'll need

At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package

Extra points for

Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW
PLC programming certification
Protection or HV operating authorisation
