Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services)

From MV switchgear to PLCs, this water treatment utility in Springs needs a sharp electrical engineer. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is Springs-based, with most of your time spent at a water treatment utility. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms
• Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
• Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
• Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
• Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
• Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2

• Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
• Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
• At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
• BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts

• Paid professional registration and training
• Clear path to associate or senior engineer
