Electrical Draughtsperson (Reticulation Layouts)

The civil and structural consultancy in Polokwane needs a draughtsperson who gets the dimensions right the first time. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Location: Polokwane, Limpopo. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Take site measurements to check existing conditions
• Model steel structures in Tekla and produce shop drawings and cutting lists
• Draft civil layouts, longitudinal sections and cross sections for services
• Produce bills of materials from 3D models
• Prepare electrical single line diagrams and cable routing drawings
• Follow SANS 10111 drawing conventions and the office title block standard

• Advanced skills in AutoCAD plus one 3D package
• Neat and accurate, with a habit of checking your own work
• Able to read engineers' mark-ups and ask the right questions
• At least 2 years working as a draughtsperson in your discipline
• National Diploma or N6 in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering, or a draughting qualification

• Experience with plant piping design software
• Revit or Civil 3D experience

• Two-screen workstation

• List the software versions you use daily. Firms want to know you can start without training.
