Job Description

From MV switchgear to PLCs, this water treatment utility in Isando needs a sharp electrical engineer. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a water treatment utility in Isando. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
Size cables, transformers and protection using design software
Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2

What you need

Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package

Nice if you have

Protection or HV operating authorisation
Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW
