Electrical Engineer (GCC Factories) – Immediate Start

From MV switchgear to PLCs, this water treatment utility in Klerksdorp needs a sharp electrical engineer. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The work is in Klerksdorp, North West, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Draw up tender specifications and bills of quantities for electrical works
• Size cables, transformers and protection using design software
• Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
• Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
• Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
• Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
• Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms

• Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
• At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
• Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
• BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
• Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package

• Flexible hours on design days
• Clear path to associate or senior engineer
