Electrical Engineer (GCC Factories) – Immediate Start

Power has to be safe, reliable and legal. The municipal electricity department in Krugersdorp needs you to make it so. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a municipal electricity department on the Krugersdorp side of Gauteng.

• Draw up tender specifications and bills of quantities for electrical works
• Set and test protection relays and keep settings records
• Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
• Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
• Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms
• Size cables, transformers and protection using design software
• Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres

• BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
• Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
• Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
• ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
• Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
