Job Description

Power has to be safe, reliable and legal. The solar and battery project developer in Kempton Park needs you to make it so. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a solar and battery project developer on the Kempton Park side of Gauteng.

What your day looks like

Draw up tender specifications and bills of quantities for electrical works
Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion

What you need

ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
