Electrical Engineering Technologist (Substations)

The solar and battery project developer in Gqeberha needs an electrical engineer for projects that go from design to commissioning. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The site is in Gqeberha; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
• Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
• Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
• Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms
• Size cables, transformers and protection using design software
• Draw up tender specifications and bills of quantities for electrical works
• Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097

• Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
• Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
• Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
• BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts

• PLC programming certification
• Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW
