Electrician for CoC Inspections

The food processing plant in Kempton Park needs a qualified electrician who can work neatly and sign off safe installations. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Location: Kempton Park, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies
• Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
• Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls
• Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
• Install inverters, battery banks and changeover switches for backup power clients
• Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site
• Install and wire distribution boards, isolators and earth leakage units to SANS 10142-1

• Valid Code 08 driver's licence
• Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
• Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter

• Company bakkie for call-outs and travel between sites
• Provident fund and group risk cover after probation
• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year
• Standby allowance when you are on the after-hours roster

• List two or three recent jobs with sizes, like a 60-point house rewire or a 10 kVA inverter install. It shows your level quickly.
• If you have issued CoCs before, say how many and for what type of property.
