English Home Language Teacher (Senior Phase)

Teach at a faith-based independent school in Tembisa where your planning, marking and patience all count. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Home base is a faith-based independent school on the Tembisa side of Gauteng. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Set, mark and moderate formal assessment tasks for the term
• Plan weekly lessons against the CAPS annual teaching plan
• Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
• Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
• Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and district workshops

• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
• Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
