English Home Language Teacher (Senior Phase)

You'll plan and teach CAPS lessons that stick at a low-fee private school in Worcester. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The site is in Worcester; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
• Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP
• Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines
• Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans
• Plan weekly lessons against the CAPS annual teaching plan
• Set, mark and moderate formal assessment tasks for the term

• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
• Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
• Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance

• Comfortable with Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams for homework
• Experience marking for the NSC or IEB
• Honours degree in your subject or in education management
