Enrolled Nurse (Day Clinic)

A physical rehabilitation hospital in Hammarsdale needs someone kind and reliable to look after patients who can't manage alone. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a physical rehabilitation hospital in Hammarsdale. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Turn bed-bound patients on schedule and check pressure areas for early sores
• Follow infection control rules, including hand hygiene and safe sharps disposal
• Help patients walk, transfer from bed to chair and do their exercises
• Help patients bath, dress, eat and use the toilet with dignity
• Make beds, change linen and keep the rooms clean and uncluttered

• Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent
• Able to work shifts, including nights and weekends
• Physically strong enough to lift and move patients safely
• SANC enrolment as an Enrolled Nurse or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary for nursing posts
• First aid Level 1 or BLS certificate

• Code B or Code 8 driver's licence for home visits
• Dementia care or palliative care short course

• Overtime paid at time and a half
• Transport home after late shifts at some facilities
• Paid training in dementia and end-of-life care

• Name the type of patients you've cared for, such as stroke patients or dementia residents, in your first CV line.
• If you're a caregiver, attach the certificate from the training provider, not just a letter saying you attended.
