Enrolled Nurse (Surgical Ward)

A retirement village frail care centre in eMalahleni needs someone kind and reliable to look after patients who can't manage alone. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at a retirement village frail care centre in eMalahleni. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Hand out oral medication under the supervision of a registered nurse
• Take and chart temperature, pulse, blood pressure and blood glucose
• Turn bed-bound patients on schedule and check pressure areas for early sores
• Do simple wound dressings and report anything that looks infected
• Spot confusion, falls risk or changes in mood and tell the nurse in charge
• Keep families updated on routine matters and pass clinical questions to the sister
• Help patients bath, dress, eat and use the toilet with dignity

• Patient and gentle with elderly, frail or confused people
• SANC enrolment as an Enrolled Nurse or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary for nursing posts
• Able to work shifts, including nights and weekends
• First aid Level 1 or BLS certificate

• Uniform supplied
• Paid training in dementia and end-of-life care
• Overtime paid at time and a half
