Job Description

You'll keep a retired couple's cottage in Pietermaritzburg clean, calm and running smoothly for the family. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a retired couple's cottage on the Pietermaritzburg side of KwaZulu-Natal.

What your day looks like

Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas on a weekly rotation
Get children ready for school and supervise homework in the afternoon
Wash, hang, iron and fold the household's laundry
Water indoor plants and feed pets
Dust furniture, ornaments and skirting boards

What you need

Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
Able to speak and understand basic English
Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised

Helpful, not essential

Experience caring for an older person
Cooking experience with family meals
Non-smoker

What you get

Written contract with fixed hours and duties

Own room with bathroom for live-in posts
