Estimator (Tenders & Pricing)

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in Bellville. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Bellville; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings

• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses

• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying
• Estimating software experience on top of Excel
